Overcoming-X is the first Russian web-project dedicated to the problems of homosexuality and topics related to other gender problems.
It has been developed by a group of people with different social and religious Christian background who are themselves struggling with same-sex attraction (although we have some who are not).
Our aims are:
- to promote clear information about homosexuality and gender as it is designed by God,
- to give those who struggle practical tools in their journey to overcome homosexuality,
- to unite those who are worried about the issue,
- to give advice to frustrated families and friends.
To achieve them we:
- translate materials (since only very few of them are available in Russian),
- publish psychological, sociological researches, religious opinions on the topic,
- maintain discussions forum and have consultations on-line,
- develop tools for the support groups and unite those who are interested.
We are looking forward to start publishing projects with the interested publishing house.
The site does not contain any resources in English, but the English-speaking can find a number of web-links to the relevant sites.
All the work is done on voluntary basis. What we lack is a literature. If you could donate some books on the topic (mostly needed are those which are dedicated to lesbianism, transsexuality and recovery groups work) we would be very grateful. We also would like to ask for support in promotion of the information about the site.
